Functionality and compatibility aside. I know everything will eventually be writtenfor the new OSes- I would LOVE to upgrade...I've just seen my iPad getting slower with each update. Significantly slower. I'm just afraid of applying iOS 8 and turn my iPAD into something akin to trying to run through water

I may clean it up, and bite the bullet to see what happens..

Let me know your result good sir!

yay, I'm now Serrano...

I will try to do just that. It would be nice if the iOS 8 update doesn't impact my iPad 2 as much as I am assuming it will. I'm contemplating doing a wipe on the unit, and upgrade. This particular one has been replace by an Air 2, and my plan is to allow my grandson to use my original iPad when he visits. He doesn't need 99% of the apps on it.

Good luck to the OP.
